The same desk tomorrow?
That is the difference.

A clear comparison of flexible monthly seating at ₹7,000 and a dedicated workstation at ₹7,500.

An open workstation and a fixed workstation are both ways to work in Dansa’s shared area. The main difference is whether a desk is assigned to you. An open membership is ₹7,000 per person per month; a fixed membership is ₹7,500. This guide helps you decide whether a consistent desk is worth the ₹500 difference for the way you work.

What an open workstation means

With an open-workstation membership, you use an available seat in the shared workspace rather than having one particular desk permanently assigned. It is a monthly product, not another name for a day pass. It can be a straightforward choice when you bring a laptop, are comfortable changing position and do not need to return to one designated desk.

Do not assume flexible seating means unlimited walk-in capacity at any hour. Confirm how attendance and availability work for the membership. If you often work alongside a colleague, ask how you can sit together; two open memberships do not automatically reserve adjoining seats. Explaining your routine helps the team assess whether this is the right product before you commit to a month.

What a fixed workstation changes

A fixed workstation is an assigned desk in the shared space. The benefit is consistency: you know the position you are returning to, rather than choosing from available open seats. That can matter when you attend most working days or prefer a familiar working setup.

Assignment does not turn the shared area into an enclosed private office. You will still be working around other people, and you should visit to understand the surroundings. It also does not automatically establish overnight equipment rules or permission to change the furniture. Ask about monitors, accessories and storage before assuming your preferred setup can stay in place. A fixed desk is a clear seat allocation, not an unlimited equipment or privacy commitment.

The starting-payment examples exclude any applicable taxes, agreed extras or introductory offer. Deposit-return conditions and any notice or minimum term must be confirmed in your agreement. Use the full cost guide when comparing first-month cash requirements, and the pricing page for current listed rates. The ₹500 recurring difference should be evaluated separately from the difference in deposits.

A personal locker is not limited to a fixed desk

There are lockers for each person and each cabin at Dansa. An open-workstation member should not have to infer from the product name that personal storage is unavailable. See the assigned storage and discuss how you will use it during the visit, especially when you carry devices or papers every day.

The physical setup still matters. Check how your laptop, notebook and any permitted accessories fit on the actual desk. Look at the working position, lighting and nearby activity. The published open-workstation photograph gives a view of the seating, but it is not a substitute for inspecting the desk or an assurance that the devices pictured are included in the membership. Ask the team about your exact setup.

The shared essentials remain important

Dansa provides 300+ Mbps Wi-Fi, AC, power backup, reception and housekeeping. Unlimited tea, coffee and drinking water, the pantry with a microwave and fridge, and the lounge and breakout area support the working day. Printing, scanning and meeting-room credits should be discussed against the allowances for your chosen plan.

Try your normal laptop and calling tools from the shared area. The Wi-Fi speed you experience depends on the device, signal, network load and external services; the published speed is not a dedicated per-device guarantee. A fixed desk should be evaluated for consistency, not on the assumption that it automatically includes a different internet connection. Read the connectivity guide for questions to bring to the tour.

When neither option solves the real problem

If your main concern is having an enclosed personal room, compare the ₹9,000 single-seater cabin instead. It includes a large locker and an ergonomic chair with lumbar support and a headrest. If four colleagues need their own shared room, consider the ₹30,000 four-person cabin. Neither is the same product as an assigned desk in an open area.

For occasional client conversations, the six-person meeting room may be a separate part of your routine. For a handful of office days in a month, a ₹300 day pass may be a more relevant starting comparison. Choose the product around the requirement, not around the word “fixed” or “premium”.

Confirm the working week and any later changes

Standard access is 9 AM–8 PM, six days a week. Ask which day is closed and how holidays are handled. 24×7 access can be arranged on request, subject to confirmation and extra charges. A monthly membership is not automatically round-the-clock entry. Our extended-access guide explains what to check when your schedule runs later.

Before booking, ask what happens if you later want to move from open to fixed seating, or from a desk to a cabin. Availability and any revised agreement should be confirmed at that point; do not assume an automatic upgrade path. Book a tour to see both shared-seat options on the same visit. Comparing two actual desks, along with a complete quote, is more useful than choosing from the price difference alone.
